The exhibition, La photographie contemporaine en Iran, will run until 21 July 2012 at Regard Sud galerie.

The golden age of Iranian photography began in 1997 when international magazines and editors frequently published pictures by Iranian artists, attracting the curiosity of museum curators and exhibition organizers around the world.

Iranian photography is characterized by its thematic organization, and by its refusal to show “the same emblematic pictures seen over and over without falling into the trap of exotic images attracting the eye” comments Anahita Ghabaian Etehadieh, Director of the Silk Road Gallery in Tehran and an influential personality in Iranian photography.

Through the works of Rana Javadi, Arash Fayez and Hawar Amini, the exhibition offers a pictorial observation of Iranian society.
